Yes, today is a good excuse to kick up your heels a little if you love all the lovely things our French brethren have contributed to civilization and to the art of enjoyment and beauty.
I am celebrating by taking in an Art opening in Beverly Hills (M & B Gallery) tonight and then heading over to Bouchon for a late dinner, French style.
If you are similarly inclined, but on a smaller scale, dig out your brie, your pate, some crusty French bread and your best Bordeaux, Burgundy, or Bubbly and drink a toast to life. To end up your evening, head over to your nearest cinema and watch Woody Allen's "Midnight In Paris." If that doesn't put you in the mood and remind you of all the great contributions the French have made to the culture (and the culture of pleasure), nothing else will.
As my friend JP would say: "Tchin, tchin!"
